Bedfont & Feltham 1-5 Spelthorne Sports

Bedfont & Feltham 1-5 Spelthorne Sports

Combined Counties Div 1

Sat 21st Dec 2013-12-29

Att 71

HT 1-2

On a day when most Combined Counties fixtures were cancelled, these two teams put on a good performance in front of a crowd that also braved the elements at The Orchard.
The Spelly took an early lead but also gave The Yellows a glimmer of hope when they turned in a Luke Craig cross to bring the game level. It wasn’t long before Spelthorne took the lead again and a second half rout of 3 quick fire goals showed why they sit at the top of Division 1.

They now have an extraordinary run of 22 games unbeaten in all competition this season.
A quick note on former League referee Mr Jarnail Singh who ran the game brilliantly in difficult conditions.

From a photographers perspective I chose to take most of my pictures undercover at the far end of the pitch. The light was pretty poor so I chose to switch to Black & White for the majority of the game.  Although the high ISO resulted in grainy images,   I’m pleased with the results as it also forced me to look at a wider range of character shots and moments that I wouldn’t of seen in better weather.
Being the only game on in the area proved beneficial to the club, lets hope that some of our visitors come back on a brighter day.
We were fortunate to have Non league blogger @putajumperon  at The Orchard please follow the link for his excellent take on the day.

Bedfont & Feltham 1-0 Eversley & California

(yellow & blue)                                                                       (red & white)

Combined Counties Div 1

2nd November 2013

After a week away from football back to match action at The Orchard. A bright and breezy day under the Heathrow flightpath with Bedfont & Feltham entertaining the team 2 places above them in CC Div 1.

B&F have Jo Ataro and Ayoub Amellal missing through injury but are lucky to have built a good strong squad in the past few weeks.

B&F start the better of the 2 teams with Mike Kinsella forcing the Eversley & California keeper into a good save. E&C then win a penalty which was duly saved by the in form home keeper, Balasz Berta. Michael Burton-Campbell then scores for B&F making his tally 8 goals in 4 games !!

A good bit of sunshine in the 1st half  helps me keep the shutter speed quick enough for sharp photos.
HT 1-0.

E&C camp in the B&F end for most of the 2nd half and with the light deteriorating fast I was sat at the wrong end for match action. With 10 minutes left B&F striker J' Molloy looked on for a goal but was caught offside. The resilient B&F defence and further saves from Balasz helped to claim all 3 points. Bedfont & Feltham move up to 5th in Div 1.

Welwyn Garden City 1-0 Bedfont & Feltham

Welwyn Garden City 1-0 Bedfont & Feltham

FA Vase 2nd Round Proper

Saturday 19th October 2013

Welwyn Garden City 1-0 Bedfont & Feltham
(Claret & Sky Blue)             (Yellow & Blue)
Another away day covering  Bedfont & Feltham.  A 50 minute drive around the top of the M25 and into the autumnal Hertfordshire countryside. We were greeted by a very hospitable WGC Committee. Hot drinks and home-made cakes,  a good start to our visit. The threatening rain clouds held off and the sunny intervals helped keep the light levels reasonable for me.
B&F were without in-form cup-tied striker Michael Burton-Campbell,  but we still had high hopes with both teams playing at the same level.
Bedfont nearly caught The Citizens on the hop with Jahmal Ramsey  sprinting past the back four with only the keeper to beat,  he was sent wide and missed a great opportunity to score.
On 25 minutes Welwyn Midfielder Perry Stellon caught visiting keeper Balaz Berta off his line and his 25 yard effort sailed into the net to the delight of the 100 plus home support .
B&F had chances to pull level in the 2nd half, but it wasn’t to be their day.
Good Luck To Welwyn in the next round.
